Welcome to the Old Cheltonian Lodge web-site.

Our Worshipful Master, Charlie Sanger-Davies, welcomes you to our website, and hopes that you find it interesting and informative.

Here we hope to keep our members and visitors up to date with our masonic and social activities. We also hope that it will give non-members an opportunity to see what we are doing in the local community, and provide them with further information should they wish to join our fraternity.

The Old Cheltonian Lodge, No.3223, was constituted in May 1907 under charter from The United Grand Lodge of England.

We meet on the third Monday in February, and the first Tuesday in May and November, at 17:00.

Our regular meetings are held at:

Freemasons Hall
60 Great Queen Street
London
WC2B 5AZ

And we currently dine afterwards at the Trattoria Verde on Southampton Row

In addition to our regular meetings we try and hold an emergency meeting in September at the School.

Our Worshipful Master, W Bro Charlie Sanger-Davies, was installed in to the Chair on Tuesday 1st May 2012 at Great Queen St, London.

He was born in 1970, one of 5 brothers, and was bought up in the village of Oxenton, just north of Cheltenham, and attended both the Junior School and College (Wilson) from 1980 -1986, leaving at the age of 16 to persue his interest in the "outdoor" life through a YTS scheme to learn about livestock and arable farming. Following the completion of the scheme Charlie developed his knowledge further by attending Hartpury College, Cirencester Royal Agricultural College, and finally Merrrist Wood where he completed his studies in Arborioculture.

Following 9 months touring Australia, Charlie returned to Cheltenham to set up his own Tree Surgery business which he continues to run.

Outside of work Charlie lives in Staverton, near Cheltenham, and his interests include wood turning and hot air balooning, for which he holds a Private Pilots Licence.

W. Bro Charlie was initiated in to the Royal Union Lodge No.246 in 2002, where is father is a Past Master, and he became a Joining Member of this Lodge in 2005

Special Dispensation had to be granted for Charlie to be installed in to the Chair as he is also currently the Worshipful Master of his Mother Lodge, Royal Union No.246, meeting in Cheltenham in the Province of Gloucestershire.
